Philosophy
There are many facets to quality. Obviously everyone wants a quality product/service; one that meets requirements and is fit for purpose. Even better if it meets or exceeds customer’s expectations. But how does a company produce such a product/service? The manufacturing industries have grappled with this issue for decades and have developed quality methodologies focusing on that outcome. There is a lot to these methodologies however a very simplistic summary could be:
- make internal processes repeatable (avoid mistakes); and
- constantly improve our processes, products and services with quality feedback loops.
Motif Markets is a software development house. In our experience, software development combines both engineering and craftmanship. We believe that the number one factor in the quality of our products is the skill of our ‘crafts people’ (developers). Our primary focus is on employing skilled developers and providing them with the resources and environment that lets them do their job effectively.
Continuous improvement is critically important to the quality of our products. We are constantly evaluating feedback from our production systems to develop improvements.
Long term, we are targetting various certifications to demonstrate our committment to quality. In the short term, we are focusing on constantly improving our products.
